Why YEA exists
In 2025, our founder Joshua Paul Hooks saw a gap that couldn't be ignored: millions of young people with brilliant ideas but no pathway to bring them to life.
He witnessed talented students from underserved communities with the drive and creativity to build something extraordinary, but without access to mentorship, funding, or even basic business education.
YEA was born from a simple but powerful belief: entrepreneurship is the great equalizer. When you give a young person the tools to build a business, you're giving them agency over their future.
Today, we've helped over 10,000 students launch real businesses, awarded $2M+ in funding, and built a network of 2,500+ mentors.
